Hole 1
Pros Advice
The first hole is the shortest par 3 on the course. However, with windy conditions it can be a difficult start with a short iron over water to a large island green. Trust your yardage and hit the center of the green for a solid start.
Hole 2
Pros Advice
A reachable par 5 for the long ball hitters where birdies can be made. A large bunker about 20 yards short of the green forces shorter hitters to lay up for an easy wedge shot to a long narrow green. Be sure to locate pin position to avoid a three putt.
Hole 3
Pros Advice
A stout par 3, which requires a solid golf shot over water. The green is a large wide target and is slightly elevated. Be sure to use enough club to get to the green. A back left pin position is tempting but can be difficult to get to.
Hole 4
Pros Advice
A short dogleg left par 4. Out of bounds boarders the right side and a water hazard is on the left. A long iron to the fairway should leave you with a mid to short iron to a three tiered green. A large bunker short and right of the green will collect poor shots.
Hole 5
Pros Advice
On windy days this short par 5 can make your tee shot difficult with out of bounds down the right side and lateral hazards down the left. Once in the fairway you must navigate your way between two ponds on your second shot. The green is well protected with three large bunkers. Long hitters have a green light for an eagle try.
Hole 6
Pros Advice
A stylish par 3 with a very large green that plays slightly uphill. Better use enough club to carry the bunkers protecting the green short and left. Two solid putts should allow you to move on with a par.
Hole 7
Pros Advice
A difficult long uphill par 4. Tee shots need to split the fairway bunkers. Additional fairway is beyond the right fairway bunker. Club selection is critical for approach shot; the green is large and deep. From the front of the green to the back can vary up to three clubs. Prevailing winds make par a great score on any day.
Hole 8
Pros Advice
An accurate tee shot is desired for this picturesque par 4. Out of bounds all down the right side with three fairway bunkers on the left. Approach shot is uphill with two bunkers behind the green. A fine approach shot should gain a solid birdie.
Hole 9
Pros Advice
Completing the front nine is a slightly downhill par 3, which requires and accurate middle to short iron. A collection bunker short and left of the green can make a par challenging.
Hole 10
Pros Advice
A slight dogleg right par 4. Long hitters can carry the right transition bunker, which will make the hole play much shorter. Approach shot is to a slightly elevated green with a bunker protecting the right side. A back right pin location will make par a challenge.
Hole 11
Pros Advice
A short par 3 with water to the left of the green. A bail out area short and right of the green will make for an easy up and down for par. Be sure to take a look left off of the tee box to see pin location on hole #12.
Hole 12
Pros Advice
A short dogleg left par 4 demands your accuracy. Tee shot must carry the wetlands and favor the right side of the fairway landing area. A short approach shot over water into a narrow long green will test all abilities to get one close to the hole. Plenty of trouble here for a short par 4.
Hole 13
Pros Advice
You may want to call 911 from here on out! A dogleg right par 5, measuring 604 yards is uphill and will play longer. Give it a rip on this tee shot and aim down the left side of fairway. Better rip it again to setup a third shot with a mid iron. Green is difficult to see and is guarded by two bunkers short and left. Par is a bonus.
Hole 14
Pros Advice
A demanding dogleg left par 4. Tee shot must carry the wetlands and going left is not an option. Out of bounds down the right. A successful tee shot leaves plenty of work for a par. Approach is an uphill blind shot to one of Tanna’s smaller greens. A bunker left of the green will collect balls heading towards the wetlands.
Hole 15
Pros Advice
A straight away par 5. Will usually play into the wind. Two quality shots will end up short of the wetlands and leave you with a delicate wedge to a wide thin green. Trust your yardage and attack the flagstick. A bunker short and right makes a back right pin location difficult to reach. Better to aim center of the green for a birdie try.
Hole 16
Pros Advice
The longest par 3 at 215 will again play into the wind. Green is very large and receptive. Large transition bunkers collect shots short and right. Better use enough club to hit the center of the green, leaving you your best chance for a two-putt par.
Hole 17
Pros Advice
This par 5 is 605 yards straight away. Out of bounds on the right and lateral hazards on the left. Tee shots aimed on the right side of fairway is a solid choice. Best to lay up your second shot over the fairway bunker on the right. Third shot is difficult with two bunkers short and water left of the green will require and an accurate approach. A par on this difficult par 5 certainly deserves a cool beverage at the 19th hole.
Hole 18
Pros Advice
Tanna’s finishing hole leaves you with an opportunity to get one back with a birdie. A solid tee shot down the left side of the fairway will give you a full look at the green. Note wind and pin location, trust your yardage and attack the flagstick for a one-putt birdie.
